Stupid "Pet" People

The Vietnam Wall is in Springfield, VT right now. We went to see it this morning & on our way out I heard a little dog barking. I went over to the truck & low & behold there was a small, white dog in the truck. The windows were cracked, but it was over 80 degrees already. The dog was belted in, couldn't even get to the windows & to small to get any air.
We told the officials, then I saw a police car patrolling, so I told him. The truck hadn't been there a long time, but as we all know, in weather like this it doesn't take much for a vehicle to heat up enough to harm a dog. The officer went to check it out. Just leave the dog at home !!
Then we went to Friendly's for lunch & another man got out of his vehicle, cracked the windows & opened the sunroof & left his dog inside. I told him I hoped he wasn't going to be long because it is way to hot for a dog in a vehicle. WHAT is the matter with people, are they STUPID? Obviously, I am an animal lover, and have 2 dogs. In weather like this, they have to stay home.
Sorry to vent, but it makes me so mad that people are so STUPID !!!!!

    I'm with you on this...I really can't believe that people are so stupid/ignorant. If its over 80 I don't take my dog with me. I'm even afraid that if I broke down on the side of the rode, I wouldn't be able to keep him cool and we'd have to walk for who knows how long before we got help. And this is from a person with a Dalmatian which loves to lay on the black top and sun bathe in the back yard in the hot weather. (Of course I don't let him do that for too long to prevent sunburn) emoticon

    We like to take our dog with us but in this kind of weather there is no way if we have to make stops where we are both getting out . . . some people are just to stupid to have pets.

    oh, I know, Beauty, this kind of thing drives me absolutely crazy! I always have to say something to people when I come across these situations. It's gotten me yelled at a number of times but I don't care. I always worry about the safety of the animals. I have also called the cops a few times on behalf of a pet in a car on a hot day. Some people just have no clue. Then again, some people really should't have pets. Glad you acted in this situation and also proud to know you, my friend! emoticon emoticon

    That is stupid. Glad you said something. While I was in my garden yesterday 2 dogs came to me overheated , I gave them

    water and found where they lived. The owners didn't even thank me. I'd do it again, I can't stand to see anything suffer! emoticon

    I'm right there with you. I've done the same thing. I've also walked into a Denny's and announced "Who is cooking the dog in the parking lot?" (hubby nearly died over that one).

    People just don't think, or worse -it's just a dog.
