Dr. Appointment today is cause for concern....

Thursday, July 19, 2012

I thought that I was going for a routine follow up for my hypothyroid medication. I went in for blood work on Tuesday and today the nurse called and said that I need to come in for an appointment, my TSH was a little higher. As it turns out, my TSH is still within the normal range but I'm still having symptoms of fatigue and hair loss. A couple months ago, my dr. ran blood tests to see if I may have Lupus. The blood tests came back negative but with my continued symptoms of fatigue and hair loss she suggest that I see a Rheumatologist because I do have 4 out of 11 common symptoms of Lupus. On top off this, I'm being put on medication for hypertension. I'm now more determined than ever to loss this weight. I fill like I'm falling apart and I'm only 34!

Have they run an ANA (antinuclear antibodies) test? Usually turns up positive for autoimmune conditions like lupus. Good luck!

I'm so sorry! It's so scary when our health breaks down...and waiting for test results is among my least favorite activities.

I'm thinking positive thoughts for you!! Be gentle with yourself and keep moving forward, one step at a time!

I don't know what your exercise routine is like. but my blood pressure has returned to normal since I started exercising daily. I of course limit my sodium intake... but the exercise has been the key for me. I wish you luck with all that is going on, I truly know how you feel.... it is great that you can get it all checked out and get it taken care of if need be. Changing eating habits and exercise helps many things... I know as this personally as I have no means to get to a doctor, yet I have seen great improvements in many of my health issues since April when I started my lifestyle change.
