In my attempts to eat better I've decided to implement some smoothies and/or shakes into my diet. I'm not using the Shakes by Vi or Shakeology, but I think I'm doing a pretty rockin' job at making some good (both taste-wise and health-wise) shakes! Today I had a delish pineapple smoothie for breakfast with a Luna Bar that I've been assured *IS* healthy, though the delectable taste would cause me to think otherwise!! And for dinner I made a chocolate-cherry-vanilla-almon
d super smoothie!
I used about a cup of frozen cherries, a cup of Original Silk Pure Almond Milk, two scoops of protein powder (vanilla flavored 50% Soy/50% Whey), and a tablespoon and a half of some chocolate smoothie mix that I got at the store. Oh, and about a cup of ice (duh)! It is SO good and super filling!!! Plus, it only has 247 calories, 68 carbs, 4 grams of fat, and 16 grams of protein!
My breakfast smoothie had 1 cup of fresh-frozen diced pineapple, 1 tablespoon of pineapple smoothie mix, and 2/3 cup of water with a cup of ice. I'm thinking of adding protein tomorrow... I only got the protein powder today!
I will alert you when the crowning ceremony has been scheduled and I'll try to share other great smoothie recipes as I find/create them!
