A Moment of Enlightenment

You know, sometimes enlightenment can come out of the most random circumstances. For instance, this past week money has been really tight, so I have been forced to eat most of my meals from home. I keep a stash of oatmeal at my desk for times like this. Kroger had my favorite yogurt, Chobani, on sale this week, so I stocked up for my snacks for the week. I also keep some sort of fruit around at all times, be it fresh, frozen, or canned.

So anywho, I have not been able to bring myself to eat the oatmeal for breakfast. Instead, I have eaten either cereal with fruit or a cup of yogurt and a piece of fruit for the past few days. This is a big deal, because I usually eat a FULL breakfast every morning. Surprisingly, I have been satisfied with a smaller breakfast. I momentarily forgot that your body/stomach adjusts to your eating patterns. If we eat a lot, it stretches and takes more to fill us up. If we cut our portion sizes, it shrinks, therefore allowing us to feel full quicker.

I am going to make a conscious effort to keep my portion sizes smaller to aid in my weight loss efforts. I also found some new motivation ~ a plus sized bikini!!!



I want to strolling on the beach in this next summer. I have a lot of work to do to get there. I am about to go in and go hard. Wish me luck Sparkies!!!
