The Best Laid Plans, Breakfast, and Other Random Thoughts

I got up at 5:45 this morning. It was dark.
I was going to run early because I had to be in town at 8:00. I even posted on SparkPeople about checking myself into the looney bin for being up that early.
I got in the car to go to the park. I drove halfway there and my car started doing the shimmy. Ooof. That was the end of my early morning running adventure. Lucky for me, I was able to get the car home, and it seemed to stop doing it's little dance. Of course, it didn't do anything out of the ordinary when my husband drove it. It reserves its weirdness for me alone.
Fortunately, my appointment took less time than I thought, and I was able to get home before my husband left for the office. I even had time to get out for that run before he left. Score.
It was an awesome run. And I think it was because I had breakfast. Not that I don't usually have breakfast, but my mornings usually go a little like this:
Wake up. Swear under my breath about it being morning already. Get up. Stumble to coffee. Find some clothes, possibly from the dirty clothes pile. I am going to run in them after all. Search the house for my keys. Go run. Drink water. Eat breakfast.
So, food in my belly, in addition to coffee helps. Such a novel concept. It takes a while for things to sink into this girls brain. Especially early in the morning.
