We used to eat out almost every night when we had more demanding jobs that got home after 7:00 every night. Now my work responsibilities have really calmed down and my DH has retired so we hardly ever eat dinner out any more. My DH takes full responsibility for dinner every Tuesday because I have Yoga class at 5:00 to 6:00 every Tuesday evening. I take full responsibilty for dinner on Thursday because my DH plays softball in his Vintage softball league and can't shop on or plan. The rest of the time we share the responsibilty, he'll grill and I'll make the side dishes or I'll do most of it with my DH serving as sous-chef. We both love to cook and it's so much easier when you get home at 5:00 or 6:00 (or like my DH can be home whenever he wants)
My DH and I have just made a commitment to eat fish twice a week. We have grilled salmon every Monday since garbage day is Tuesday and we like to get the fishy bones and skin out and away as fast as possible. We also have committed to some other gillfish or shellfish some other time in the week. So far we've kept the commitment for 6 weeks.
I am soooo lucky that my DH is a master at the grill and our very moderate climate allows him to grill outside anytime we like.
