Getting Better

I may have a clue about what keeps dragging me down. Coffee or artificial sweetener. Today was a much better day and I realized I the past two days I haven't had coffee or anything else with artificial sweeteners. I hadn't been drinking a lot of water lately. I started drinking diet flavored teas and coffee with sugar free creamer when the work contest was over and cutback on my water. Yesterday and today I was back to drinking only water and herbal tea.

I also found a way to make my lunch better. I ran out of the Asian style dressing I like on my broccoli slaw salad and can't find it again so I started using a peach one. Once again, too much sweet, so today I went to the old standby. Low fat ranch dressing. Tasted good! Then on my way home I stopped and got a little zucchini to try a spark recipe I found for zucchini Parmesan. Didn't turn out crispy like it was supposed to, but I loved it anyway. I found another recipe to try soon. Much better than my last try with eggplant (nasty!).

There's a gluten free food fair I think to tomorrow. I know the name of the store it's at, but not the branch. So I'll go to the closest one first even though I think it's at the other one because it's bigger. I can't find anything online so I hope it's tomorrow. Either that or it's next Saturday.

My kids at work are fascinated by the hermit crab in the lobby aquarium so I got permission to buy one for the room. Now I just need to find one. I stopped at PetCo but they didn't have any. There's another one near where I think the food fair is so I may stop. Better than dealing with the traffic to get to the other side of town. Then again, I would like to go to the bigger mall since this Bath and Body Works doesn't have the scent I'm looking for. I just hate dealing with people and construction and traffic.

Now the temperature is getting better so hopefully I'll be able to sleep better. My husband and I have different ideas on the right temperature for sleeping. He likes 80-90 and I can't handle that. I go to bed before him and he won't put the A/C on until he goes to bed. At that point if I'm still awake I give up and move to the couch. Problem is, by that time I generally have to get up in about 5 hours. Then I always have trouble sleeping Sunday night because it's the end of the weekend. I need to work on that.

    Artificial sweeteners can play havoc with our bodies. Hopefully ditching it will help a lot! As for the food fair, why not try calling and asking the store if it is there or elsewhere? Check a receipt - it should have the phone number on it, or it should be online. Why drive around when you can find out with a simple phone call? Same thing with the hermit crab and Bath and Body Works - call and ask if they have what you want before you drive all the way there and risk them not having it.

    I'm thinking you should talk to your husband about your sleeping arrangements. Either he needs to cave and let you turn up the air and he can put on some more clothes, or maybe you need different sleeping arrangements. You already end up in different rooms, so why not? Good sleep hygiene calls for a cool room and warm blankets. You deserve good, restful sleep too, right? Going without adequate sleep for a long time is damaging to the body (and can cause weight gain) so coming up with some arrangement or compromise with the temperature is not just for your comfort, but for your health.

    Try Amazon for the dressing you love or the mfg directly a lot of the time you can order online & get your fix when you need it. emoticon
    it took me awhile but don't use the sweetener to often, however, caffeine ? Well lets not discuss that now lol. Have a great night!
