Progress is a big picture item

Damn it. Highlight of my day was getting my ass out there for a 2mile run *run/walk combo, I’m just a beginner… and then came home to Keith having made chicken fajitas. Which I love love love, and they are healthy too! But. I was down to maybe 200 available cals for the day, and I had three of the fajitas. THREE. Each time with a dollop of sour cream. And all I wanted was to be down for weigh-in. I was 178.5 last Saturday, and 177.6 yesterday, but I think the reckless fajita abandon will change that. Damn it. And screwy and wrong but for a half second after I had dinner, I sort of wished I was bulimic and could just be rid of it, instead of thinking how the scale is going to mock me now. Crap. Oh well. Onward!!!

    Thanks for visiting my blog! Oh my, it looks like we are almost the same weight. And you have small children. I know how you feel! Fajitas sound delish, and I wish my husband would cook occasionally. Cheers!

    In the grand scheme of things, the three fajitas and dallops of sour cream added up to how many calories?

    As someone else pointed out, being frustrated about the three fajitas (with sour cream dallops) and only having 200 calories remaining is really not that big of a deal when you look at the big picture. In order to gain one pound of body weight, you would have to consume 3500 calories over your maximum calorie intake. I seriously doubt that the three fajitas with sour cream dallops would even come close to 1/3 of that.

    It's one thing to go over your daily calorie max by a few hundred calories. It's a problem and another if you go over 500 or more every day for a week.

    Don't be too difficult on yourself. You know what you've done and in my eyes and a couple others as well, you haven't done anything badly at all.

    GTANNER is right--we've all had a fajita day...or two...or three. Just learn from the screw up and move forward from this point--like maybe learn to ask Keith NOT to prep one of your fav. foods right before a weigh-in day!

    Firstly, breathe :). I think everyone has had days where they've given in and regretted it later. Try not to get too frustrated and move on. I wish you luck in achieving your goals.:)
