It's been a while...

I just got diagnosed diabetic so.... I'm losing weight. I'm not gonna lose weight I have dropped significantly over the last two weeks. Apparently fear is the motivator I needed. I am on weight watchers and watching my carbs too no more than 45 carb per meal until the last one and that one's only 30.

Being a Vegetarian makes this so much easier. So this is why I came back to Spark people. There is no easier way to look up my carbs. No other site has the tools Sparkpeople has for looking up any kind of nutrition fact. You can enter recipies in Weight Watchers e-tools (which I use) but they do not tell you nutrition information only points per serving. So I'm back....

I've been having limited success with Weight Watchers. Until I got my diagnosis. I lost 8 pounds a few weeks ago. On account of my hip being too sore for me to get out to get foods I shouldn't have. Since that time it's 2 pounds, 3 pounds. I've lost 3 since Saturday. I think with watching my carbs it may even be more dramatic.

So it took the diagnosis of diabeties to make me eat several small meals a day. I just got my meter and I am going to test a lot to see how bad it really is. My first test (this morning) showed me a little high from breakfast. I had a better choice for lunch (salad and the yummy turkish lentil soup) with some saltines.... Apparently Carbs don't roll over so I have to eat them at each meal.

I'm so stoked right now. I finally get to post some success on here. I'm looking forward to getting my ability to do things back again.

    Friends with type two diabetes managed to get away from medication thorough food and exercise so the motivation must be great. Good luck!

    And remember to get some exercise each day.
    Having muscles mean a better metabolism I have learned.
    Else wise it may be muscles rather than fat you lose.
