Lots of changes

A lot of changes are going on at the moment. I am moving south on Sunday and my new teaching job starts on Tuesday. At the moment I don't quite know how I feel about all this. I guess it is inevitable to "grow up" and have a proper job but I know the next year will be hard. It will be a lot of work, a lot of late nights and probably a lot of difficult lessons to teach. In addition I will also be away from my boyfriend, separated by almost the entire country.
Nevertheless, over the last few days I have been thinking of an action plan. I do not want the first year of my teaching career to just happen to me. I want to be prepared, I want it to be the best year I can make it. So my goals for September, my first month teaching are these:
I am going to prioritize sleeping because I know the more tired I am the more rubbish my lessons are. I plan to get at least 7 hours, ideally 8 hours a night.
I am going to eat well and I will remember to take healthy snacks to school in case I need to stay later. I will check out my work area next week and see if there is a good place for me to stash some nuts or dried fruit.
My goal is to do a 10 minutes exercise challenge every day before school. There is only one gym where I will be living which charges extortionate prices so I think I'll pass on that. A new, small gym will be opening on Oct 1st and I will check that out. There is also Zumba and I have running gear and I am looking into getting a yoga mat for exercising in my room. Watch this space!
