Narrowing the Gap between

I was reading another blog about a woman who was my age and starting SP again for the third time and I thought, you know that could be any of us. If you are like me, you've tried and failed a million times to lose weight; I've done everything except surgery - but reading her blog something hit me. Yes, we are going to blow it, for sure, absolutely - there will be a day when we go off the rails and forget all about healthy eating - that's not the point, but it sure used to be for me! When this used to happen I gave up, went down a rat hole and reemerged fatter and more depressed - a month, a year, five years later to try again. Riding my bike this morning it hit me, it's not about blowing it - it's about how long it takes to get back on track! Yes, it's all about narrowing the gap between blowing it and getting back on track. If we can narrow the gap from a year to a day, then we will absolutely make it! So I'm thinking a whole different way about this now - I am finally getting what I have read so many times, but never embraced - losing weight is a mind game - and I am IN the game - narowing the gap, staying with the program!
