Big city life

Monday, September 03, 2012

So while I was grocery shopping today I saw something I never thought I would. I was at the checkout when the lady in the line next to mine started going on about some guy that just stole her wallet. She had her purse unzipped on her shoulder, noticed some guy standing right next to her, then realized her wallet was gone and so was the guy. One of the scariest moments of my life.

I made a chicken recipe my husband found. He's very proud of finding it for me and it would be good except that it has a lot of butter. Since it's the first time I made it I followed the recipe, but already have a plan on how to make it healthier. I put it into my tracker and I'm still fine. Actually still low in calories and carbs, but this is a rare occasion I get enough fat.

My husband brought up our situation again today, so maybe he's thinking about it. I'm already planning my choice of words for our next big discussion. Maybe then I'll get him to understand that things need to change and I need actions instead of just words.

Very scary at the store. What's wrong with people....

Glad you made a recipe that was good and sending you some positive energy your way to you and your husband. Communication is key.

I was reading the paper from yesterday and the police reports listed that at my grocery store a woman lost her keys in the store and her car was gone when she got outside. And I live in a not-so-well-off section of a 'rich' suburb. Not a place you'd think of things like that happening. Tip: use the child safety belt to lock your purse into your cart. How often do women leave their purse in the cart then turn to look at produce or compare labels. It takes seconds for someone to grab your purse and run, but if they're dragging the whole cart it will be a lot more difficult! Goes to show how important it is to pay attention to your surroundings though.

I hope your next discussion leads to some resolution. It's a tough situation and no solution is going to be perfect for everyone. Finding an outcome that will be true to who you are is the best, so that's what I hope for you. I'm glad you're back to working on your healthy journey. You deserve great things, and good health is included in that.
