A sighting of the old me
Tuesday, September 04, 2012
I had to laugh at myself today. I just pulled into the parking lot of our apartment when I had to stop to wait for a guy switching the old dumpsters for bright shiny new ones. The new ones were already in place and he was moving the old ones around with a forklift. Well, I was so engrossed in watching the forklift that I didn't notice he had stopped and was motioning for me to go around. What can I say? I know many truckers and work with 2 year olds. Trucks are a big deal.
I'm starting to cook again. Granted it's only roasted potatoes (sweet and white), but it's still better than microwave popcorn. Then again, if I went for the popcorn I'd reach the minimum requirements for fat. Maybe some peanut butter. I'm actually making an effort with the tracker today.
My parents are already asking about Thanksgiving. I don't want to think that far ahead. Too stressful to get worked up about it this early. My cousin and her daughter are fighting hardcore. They don't believe that my mom and I don't fight. My mom tried explaining that we learned early that life is too short to fight with those you care about. It's true. If you understand that each time you speak with someone could be the last, you don't fight and/or say hurtful things. Hard lesson to learn, but important.
