I have had a busy week. Much easier day today.
I was up at 4 am to donate plasma at 6 am. Wow! That seems really early to go do that! I almost fell asleep while hooked up and that is not allowed.
And you definitely don't want to bend your arm with a 17 gauge needle stuck in it!! Some days that needle feels really big going in your arm and some days you barely feel it.
I have been eating good food that is in my calorie and fat amount. Yesterday was an exception. I was hungry all day cause I only got 3 hours of sleep the night before.
I could have eaten one of these juicy burgers...but I didn't have any hamburger!! Or turkey burger in the house. But I did over eat and didn't even record what I ate. By the time the end of the day it didn't seem to matter. Today is better. I have recorded everything and ate healthy.
I didn't gain any weight, but would if I pigged out like that too much. I read an article on having a cheat day yesterday. Imagine that! The perfect day to read it. It basically said to call it choices rather than cheating. And that you shouldn't label food good or bad. Or cut anything totally out of your diet. That leads to feeling deprived and when you feel like you are deprived too long...you might just binge on something you have labelled a bad food. I don't have anything labelled bad. I can eat anything in moderation. I have found that if I want something today and don't eat it...by tomorrow I want it twice as bad. So if I eat a little today, I don't crave it tomorrow. I used to save calories for the end of the day for dark chocolate or a fat free food. Now I don't always wait for the end of the day. And some days I don't eat something like that at all.
Those are my days when I have eaten good food and exercised. I am just tired and want to go to sleep.
And if I get enough sleep, I am able to eat even less.
The exercise portion of my program is not going so well. It is pretty much non-existent at this point. I tell myself in the morning I really should get to the gym, but I never make it. I have done some yoga from a dvd I got at the library. It is called Yoga for the Rest of Us-Back Care Basics. I really like it. I am still not able to do everything, because of my knee replacement. But I can do most of it. I also got exercises from the doctor to do for my back. The problem is that he didn't show me how to do them. So I don't want to do them wrong. Yes, I have the directions and a picture. Well, that doesn't mean I can do them right. I need a real demonstration of the exercise. The picture doesn't do it justice. I see him again in a couple weeks and will let him know.
Well, guess that is enough for today. Hope everyone has a great day!
