An end to Bloated Crampy and Uncomfortable!

Okay, this feeling is nothing new to me. In fact, I’ve known there was a problem for a very long time. I’ve always been irregular and left to feel uncomfortable after small or big meals. Always needed a boost to let it go (U know what I mean).
I’m recalling a couple of years back when I first got serious about shedding some pounds, I went to GNC and bought an entire shake plan to help me jumpstart my weight loss. Boy did those shakes do a number on me. I had to stop the plan. However, I noticed when eating most carbs, as well, I’d feel like my food got stuck right at the top of my belly and it would take hours, sometimes days to feel any relief. I would bloat and feel yucky.
Although I was losing weight because of regular exercise all over, my belly didn’t shrink, but it was never fat. No rolls or anything, just bloat. Up until recently I started paying attention to my food diary. Although I once kept one here on SparkPeople, I didn’t truly pay attention until I started keeping one on hand, recording every bite and drink I took in a small journal. Slowly, I recognized that I felt bloated, sluggish and crampy when I ate certain things like granola bars, oatmeal, tostitos and salsa, etc. A lot the things that weren’t so bad for my diet, but no good for my allergy to gluten which kept me feeling fat and sluggish.
Finally, I’ve pinned it. I am allergic to gluten! I need to cut down, even back out of it all together. It’s been two weeks since I noticed and changed my eating and I love how I feel. Many are fooled to believe they have the “Itis” after meals, when in fact you just might not be able to digest particular foods with ease. A co-worker is experiencing the same problem and we compared notes. What a relief to finally discover that I can control this….and I’ll look a whole lot better in my bikini in Aruba now that I know what my problem is. I’m also looking forward to lowering my cholesterol because for sure my waistline is about to shrink. It feels good to learn your body! It feels good to not bloat and cramp!
Here’s to eating healthier and gluten free!
