12 Weeek Plan

Saturday, September 15, 2012

I have to admit that I am a person who likes to see quick results when I am trying to lose weight. I did a Lemonade cleanse in April and lost 10 pounds. I had been on a plateau for about two months and it helped me to push through it. I worked really hard to keep the weight off and suceeded and lost five more pounds. In July, I started moving to a new home and was unable to exercise for two months. I regained about six pound and that made me feel really miserable! My first thought was to do the lemonade cleanse again but my husband has asked me not too. It is really hard on the body and limits me a lot. Even though I really wanted to do the cleanse and lose a quick ten pounds, I will honor his wishes and do it the slow but healthy way.
I really hate counting calories! I would rather do the South Beach diet where I don't have to count calories but instead watch my carbs. The first two week will help me get rid of my severe sweet tooth addiction but taking away my fruits, sweets, and breads, including cereals. I can do that. After that I can add back myfruit without needing the sugar fix.

So this is my 12-week plan for success:

1) Start the South Beach diet this week. This will help me get over my sweet tooth which is one of my biggest downfalls!

2) While on SB I will also keep an eye on my intake of calories by tracking my food and watch my portion sizes, another big downfall. i like to eat, just like my dad! Fall is almost here and a lot of my favorite fruits and vegetables come around which also comes my favorite comfort foods like soups and chili. emoticon

3) Exercise, Exercise, Exercise. I will keep exercising daily. Walking while increasing my jogging/running intervals. Right now I am walking mostly and jogging only three minutes at a time. I would like to be able to jog for a complete mile by the end of the twelve weeks.
Strength training is also important to me. I don't want to be flabby! I would like to be able to do 100 modified push ups by the end of this challenge and right now I have to push to do 30! I would like to do ST every day either with coach nicole on spark or on my own.

4) For me to be successful, I need to work by schedule and yet be flexible enough that if I can't do something when i want or use a machine that I can't, I can compensate by finding another activity that i can do. I have lots of equipment but I tend to go to the treadmill first because it is the easiest. To be successful I need to be honest with myself, be flexible, and consistent. The Golden Phoenix team is the team that can get me there! I am ready to fly!

This is a GREAT plan! I am also so happy that you are not doing the cleanse. Taking off the pounds slowly can be frustrating- I agree- but you are building up great habits which will eventually be able to help you maintain your weight loss when you get to your goal. You are learning a lifestyle, not just reaching a goal. You definitely can do this! It is great to see that you have a supportive husband who will be with you each step of the way. And, of course, you have the BEST BLC TEAM to fly with you!! emoticon
