First week :)

I started my new job on Monday.
It's the same organisation I used to work for until they made me redundant 4 years ago, but a different department.
Everybody seems lovely with maybe the exception of one woman, but I won't have much to do with her so it's ok.
The job is mainly to do with increasing energy efficiency in the area and ensuring vulnerable people have access to services they need (both to save money on bills and other stuff).
I have been feeling shattered all week. Lots of learning and listening to explanations and being shown around - I'm sure that when I actually start doing some proper work it'll be less tiring!
The best thing about this job is that I can cycle there in less than 20 minutes. I can even walk there, the route is pretty good and goes through a lovely park. They even have a bike shed and showering facilities!
Talking about the bike: the gear shifter broke the other week, luckily some kind bike repairman did a temporary fix for free, so I could use it until I could fix it properly. I was supposed to take it to the shop the day my niece flew back to Italy but forgot, and had re-booked an appointment for next Wednesday. On Saturday morning I realised I had a major puncture. Thankfully the bike shop fixed me up with a new tyre straight away, so I can keep using the bike to go to work.
Yesterday I was on the pavement outside a shop, waiting for a friend to pay for her groceries, when I noticed a little boy in the shop next door pointing his (fake) gun at passerbys and shooting them. When he realised I was watching him he pointed the gun at me and shot me, so I pretended to panic, ducked and tried to hide. This made him laugh so he came out of the shop and kept "shooting" at me, and I kept ducking and trying to hide, panicking more and more, until he finally "got" me, and I pretended to drop down dead. Cue more laughter, both from him and me. I'm not sure what the other people around the shops thought of the mad woman dropping dead on the pavement and then laughing :)
Trying to get used to early nights, so far I've been aiming for 11 pm, maybe next week I'll go for 10 :)
