Dance like no one is watching

I stumbled into a Bollywood-style dance fitness class last year, through a friend's recommendation to just give it a try. I wasn't in a very good place, physically or emotionally, and she just wanted to give me a boost in the right direction. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be an incredibly challenging cardio and strength workout, and amazingly good fun! Until then, I can't remember when I had sweat so much and smiled my way through it. Facing a mirror, mustering my way through moves I didn't think my body capable of, I could see each misstep and notice every flaw, and yet I was too busy grinning like a 5-year old to care!
A year later, while I don't go as often as I'd like, I still make a point to take a class whenever I can. Today was a lousy day in many ways, but I got to tap, jump, shimmy, twist and work it all out, and realized how much stronger I've become. As soon as the music starts, I get to leave it all on the studio floor, and I feel like a new person after... a sweaty mess of a new person, but it feels great!
