What a Day!

Thursday, October 04, 2012

Very interesting day today. Right before lunch my supervisor came in and said she was going to rock our world a little bit. Starting next week I will once again be working alone and my co-teacher will be moving to the next room with three of our kids, including my little "Peanuts.". I'm going to miss her. I think I'm the only one not upset by this change, but the other two hope it's only temporary until another teacher is hired to help in the other classroom.

Then I got done with work early enough to go to the wildlife sanctuary for a little while. That was quite an experience as well. I hadn't been walking the trail long when a 3 foot garter snake crossed my path. I thought about trying to catch him, but decided to be content with just watching him. A little while later I came across another, much smaller one. After awhile I almost stepped on an even smaller one. This little one would have been easier to catch since he was just sunning himself in the middle of the trail. While deciding whether or not to try to pick him up he realized I was there and slithered off. I wonder if they know the weather is supposed to change this weekend.

Not a bad day.

I use to love walking alone in the wilderness. There's a coyote viewing area on the way to my appt. tomorrow. I may try to remember to leave a little early and see what's up. Suppose to snow on the Front Range tomorrow. Already! emoticon

They were probably trying to enjoy the last of the warmth before all the cold hits. Yesterday in Minneapolis the high was in the 80s. Today, the low 50s. Tonight will be frost and freezing. There are parts of northern MN that got over a foot of snow since last night! Animals have an incredible sense of nature and the world around them. They can feel when the environment is changing and will prepare for it. Some better than others, of course, but if they didn't how could so many different species survive for so many years?

Glad to know you're not upset by the change at work. Obviously you feel secure enough in yourself that you know you'll do fine, and that's great.
