Praying for those in Sandy's path
Monday, October 29, 2012
I will keep everyone in Sandy's path in my thoughts and prayers. This is supposedly the biggest hurricane ever recorded for the Atlantic basin.
I am in upstate NY. We are as prepared as we can be, stocked up with provisions. Winds are already picking up, and most likely we will lose power (perhaps up to several days) sometime today or during the night. We are lucky to have a pellet stove for some heat. I did have to run to the store this morning to pick up cat food. I have 5 cats, and I just can't run out of food for them...they are my babies ;)
I'm concerned about my son who lives in Baltimore. He has never lived through a major storm (other than snow) and is nervous. He is a neurosurgical PA and was told all surgeries have been cancelled, to stay home from work for at least the next 2 days. If ER or trauma needs him, they will call as he has experience in both. I told him that he is prepared, to use his head and stay safe. Do we ever stop worrying about our children? I don't think so!
Everyone in Sandy's path, please stay safe.
