Beautiful Saturday!

My son is spending the weekend with my parents again so it's been me and my girl since yesterday. Today I wanted to go for a walk but she wanted to ride her bike. It was warm (I really regretted wearing long sleeves!) and sunny I we took her bike out. The parking lot here at our apartment complex is really dangerous so I take her up 2-3 blocks where there's a church with this beautiful parking lot. And it's pretty empty on Saturdays! While she was riding around the lot she asked me (as she does in her OCD way) "How many miles is that, mama?" So I decided to find out! I have a couple of apps on my phone that track my movement and tell me distance, steps, etc. I went back and forth the length of the lot 7 times and about halfway through the first part of #8 I hit the one mile mark! So I was able to answer her question AND get my mile in today! It's so hard for me to get that mile in on weekends. Hopefully tomorrow we can walk to the playground... that's 1 mile each way!

At the beginning of this past week when I was only able to record 1lb lost I started thinking maybe I wasn't pushing myself hard enough. The last couple of days have shown me that I really can do more. I don't know if I can keep this momentum up every day (especially given how sore I am) but if I can do what I've done yesterday and today at least a few times each week... oh yeah! I'm going to be rocking those size 14s before Thanksgiving!

    I'm glad you and your daughter were able to get out and enjoy the nice day. It makes sense that while she's riding her bike you can be walking, as you'll both be getting exercise and it will be more fun for you than sitting and watching. Add in the walk there and back and you're doing pretty good. It's all about getting in extra movement when you can, right?

    In the beginning it makes sense to start slow and not push yourself too hard, but you've been doing pretty good lately. It sounds like it might be a good time to push yourself just a little bit and see what you're able to do. If you go a little too hard then you know your limit at this moment, and can try again later.
