It all started, as it so often does, with my dad calling and asking if I want to go out to lunch. "Sure!" I say. And just after noon I was sitting down to a big ole plate of fried chicken tenders and french fries at Zaxby's. I remember saying, "Yeah, this is probably all my carbs for today but my planned dinner for tonight is low carb so it's not a problem."
LITTLE DID I KNOW!
When I got home I pulled up the restaurant website to look up my meal so I could accurately record it...
950 calories! 52g fat! 8g sat fat! 82 carbs! 36 protein! And a mind-blowing 2140mg sodium!
HOLY SMACK!!! I had no idea it would be THAT bad! Cripes! I'm still a little in shock, honestly.
So now the question is, what's next? I suppose I could binge (Dad's next stop was McD's for a soft serve cone, I declined). Or I could put in another hour of exercise even though I did a 1 mile walk and 30 minutes of aerobics in the morning. Or I could just have a very sensible salad with sliced turkey and shredded carrots to get my carb and protein levels up while keeping my calories in range and accepting that I'm a tad over on fat, then pledge to make a better choice the next time I'm out with my Dad.
Ding, ding, ding! Winner! Door 3 it is! Some organic mixed baby lettuces with carrots and turkey rounded off my day quite nicely!
Okay, so I made an unhealthy choice today. It didn't ruin my day. I didn't immediately regain the weight I've lost. My size 16 pants still fit

. And it wasn't so devastatingly bad that I have no chance of losing 1-2 lbs this week.
It was, however, extraordinarily tasty. Dang I miss fries

! Definitely a weak spot for me!
I'm always replying to other Sparkers' blogs to just pick yourself up from a bad choice, it's all good, we all make them, what's important is what we do next and next time! Well, today I got to follow my own advice! It was just one unhealthy meal... not a reason to wish I hadn't given away all my size 22W pants!
Next time, I'll make a better choice.
But dang those were good fries!
