For almost all of my Spark life I've depended on walking and one class of venyasa yoga for all of my fitness activities and I always fret that I'm not doing enough even though I'm happy with my results. I have a pedometer that counts my steps and my glorious employer gives me $100 in wellness money every time I pass another step milestone. We get points toward the milestone everytime we go over 7000 steps or 15 active minutes. Active minutes are tracked by the pedometer every time you get more than 135 steps in one minute,
My walking never got me any active minutes because I walked too slowly and probably not very aerobically either. Well, last week, I forgot my ipod and I hate to walk without music. I was really mad at myself and determined to make short work of my usual walk since it wouldn't have any music. I never bother to look at the active minutes screen because it always says zer0 but I hit the button too many times when I was looked at my step count and low and behold somehow I had managed to get 22 active minutes. I was ecstatic. The unattainable has come into reach. So far this week I have 130 Active minutes and for the first time in a long time I'm not ashamed of my fitness activities.
This is cool!!!
