So one bad day yesterday.

Saturday, December 01, 2012

So unhappy face ):

Had my first bad day yesterday, felt so bad I didn't update my nutrition or my exercise. I ate and ate and ate and ate.

and although I today is a new day it hasn't been much better although I have eaten more fruit today and done a bit of exercise and also haven't just binged eat.

Does anyone have any tips on eating healthy and work? I work part time and find the hours a bit of a struggle as it's either to late/early for breakfast or too late or early for lunch, I also don't get a break so by the time I get home I end up really hungry and just eat anything on site.

I don't want this too become a bad habit :(
any help will be appreciated emoticon

Just think, today you did better than yesterday. Tomorrow you will do better than today! Just start with baby steps. Make sure to drink your water, cut down on portions & track everything. And even 10 minutes of exercise will be beneficial to you! There are so many videos on this site to choose from. You can do this!

Don't put yourself down, today you didnt overeat as much as yesterday, and exercised more. That is a BIG plus. You need to track your food and exercise without restriction for a week and sod the numbers, just to see where and at what time your main calories are coming from, so that it's easier to plan what to do. Don't try and change everything at once. This one size fits all approach, basically doesn't. Try to cut down your calorie intake by 10%, and up your exercise by 5% per week/fortnight until you reach your daily targets. This has to be sustainable , or you're beaten before you start. Try to take with you, or leave at home, high protein snacks like boiled eggs, that keep you satisfied for less for longer. Eat them slowly, so the 'I'm full' switch in your head, has a chance to operate.

My advice if you have had a bad day is STOP and "be done with it"! Don't beat yourself up. Just stop and move onward.
I find that taking the time to plan what I will eat the morning or evening ahead really helps and that way you can pack your lunch ahead and stay on track. When I skip meals I often end up ravenous and that leads to over eating. Good luck. You CAN do this. Spark people has everything you need to succeed. You just have to give it and yourself the attention you need and the rewards will be awesome!

Eat when it's convient for you. Eating something (doesn't matter if it's breakfast food or lunch food) every 2-4 hours should help control your appetite. I hope you find a system that works for you! emoticon
