emoticon Yes...pain, I caved. My right foot and leg, I gave into the pain. Gon't know if I am agravating olld nerve and muscle injuries from the paralysis or if I may have stepped on a tree root while walking. But after my last 6 miles and the cool down I showered and then took a short nap, when I awoke I couldn't walk on my foot and leg. Resulting in 2 missed days of excercise. I am so bummed out. But the Doc says stay off the leg for a few days and start off slow again. I feel like I failed myself....Now I have just got to lower my calories a little more, I am not loosing weight..I just don't want to go on the restricied diet the Doctors had me on before....I know I can do this, I just have to find my click.. emoticon

It's tough doing exercises when you have to stay off your feet. There are the yoga ones, and some ones for sitting in a chair that you can do.

Pilates was designed for WWII soldiers that couldn't get out of bed, so they would be good, too.

Also, there is a gizmo that helps you exercise your arms. It's called an upper body ergometer (UBE)

this is the link if you'd like to see what it is. You can put resistance on it to increase the difficulty. I'm not endorsing the actual link one, I think you could have one even more basic. This one is $34 which is in the average range of price for them.

    Good luck! emoticon

Stay off the leg a few days leaves a lot of options! All kinds of upper body stretching and yoga and weight training you can work with! Check out Indiegirl's video blogs. She is unbelievable. And Coach Meg has several videos that are done sitting.

Pain just in itself can cause depression symptoms because, well, it HURTS! And not getting your workout in because of it adds on. Then it can stall our progress, or worse, make us gain again! I'm also in chronic pain so I know we just have to do what we can when we can.

Just take care of yourself so that leg will get better and you can get out walking again!
