Finding balance in food

Today was another one of those days where I make such good choices all day long that after dinner, I still need 300+ calories to make my minimum goal! It's better than, y'know, not having enough calories left to actually eat dinner without going over my max, but it's still annoying! I had a 100 calories bag of popcorn with 1TBS of dark chocolate chips, a Healthy Choice fudge bar, a banana, and a Fiber One Chewy chocolate and oats bar to get my calories and carbs up. How could I possibly have been under on carbs and already have met my protein? That's so not like me!
It's so hard to find the right balance of everything. Oh well. I guess if it were easy, SP wouldn't be necessary and I wouldn't have met these wonderful people!
