Trying to get back on the wagon

Got back last night from a 7 day cruise to the Carribean. It was our first cruise and it was wonderful. We were able to rest and de-stress. We have been working really hard for the past year and really hadn't taken any vacation. We were involved in a major election in my state. We also have a small farm that we take care of in addition to our regular jobs. On top of this, my partner's father has been very ill and dying for the past year. We are the closest relatives to my partner's parents, so we get the bulk of those duties. Needless to say, we needed this vacation!

The hard parted of the cruise was trying to follow any kind of food plan. There is food everywhere and it's free and so good. I pretty much gave up early on. I tried to counter by exercising as much as I could. we went to the fitness center the first 2 days and then did snorkling trips for 3 days. the last day, we tried the rock climbing wall.

Now I am home and I am still craving the sweets and having a hard time getting back to my food plan. I did go grocery shopping today and tried to bring healthy food into the house and tomorrow is my last day off before I have to go back to work. I plan to get back to the gym. that is where I do my weigh-in and I am afraid I probably gained about 5 lbs.

I'd love to hear how ocher's have dealt with these kind of "vacations" from your food plans.

    same as above. try to break the sweet tooth cravings as early as possible and stock up and cook up easily accessible healthy foods ready for work and home.

    make small daily goals. whatever you keep eating that is not good for you just pick one and tell yourself tomorrow you are not going to eat it. It's easy to ask yourself to accomplish one thing! You will be back on track once those sweet cravings go away...If you can go 2 days without eating them then I don't think you will crave them. That is what I do.
