Sex With The Lights On

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Weight issues can impact every area of your life including sexual intimacy. I am over weight and do not feel good about myself. Consequently, i only have sex with my husband at night with the lights off! There is no spontaneous sex and there can be no visual stimulation.
How uncomfortable is this blog? Probably not as uncomfortable as being married to me.
This is one of many reasons I am committed to losing weight by making healthy life style changes. I am logging everything I eat every single day without exception. I plan all my meals the night before so I can stay within my calorie count. I do some form of exercise everyday. I log on to Spark People everyday and participate as much as possible. Finally, because I believe this battle takes body, mind and spirit, I have a daily devotional time which includes prayer and scripture meditation.

This is my first blog. I want to blog my list of reasons for losing weight. It is a long list! I thought I would start with my most embarrassing reason first and get it out of the way.

Stay tuned for # 2 on my list!

You are doing a great job in reaching your goal! Three months in and you are well on your way to reaching your goal! Thanks for sharing with us your insecurity....most of us share your same fear (and then some). It is reassuring to know that we are not the only ones and too, that it can be overcome. May your continued journey be swift and achievement be fulfilled.

I was married to someone who was overweight and her weight did not change how much I loved her. While I do agree that losing weight will improve the sex. Complement yourself for taking steps to become slimmer. Negative images have been shown to increase the likelihood of depression and weight increase. I am 100% percent certain that you are a wonderful person and in this world that is far more important. So start with that and know that we are all here to see you succeed.

WOW. Way to go! I think we need to "take sex back" from the enemy because God created it too, and He was even creative enough to make it FUUUUUUN.

Wow, what an honest statement about the ill effects of having gained weight.

The very best of success to you in your journey back to the great health--and great sex!--you want and deserve.

A problem realized is 1/2 solved. Continue being honest with yourself and you will enjoy the changes that come out of this self scrutiny.
    Good luck!!

It is amazing the accommodations or sacrifices we make due to our insecurities. I often find myself skipping things that I would generally like to do because of my unhappiness with weight and appearance. You are not alone stay the course and you will meet all your goals.

Quite the way to start your blogging off with a bang. Brutal honesty can be refreshing and freeing at the same time. I hope you that is what you feel. Great job!
