Afraid to Reach my Weight Goal?

Monday, December 31, 2012

Yesterday I had one of my strangest weight realizations yet. I looked at my body in the mirror and tried to seriously picture myself at my goal weight of 130 pounds. It was the weirdest thing.. I started to wonder what it would feel like. Would I look younger or older? Would I still have high blood pressure? How much of a physical change would I see in myself? What would my eating be like at that point? Would I be eating almost nothing just to maintain? Will I even recognize myself?

I understand that I am FAR from this goal, it just made me wonder. Am I ready?

Maybe you don't feel ready right now, but you have the time between now and then to naturally become ready. emoticon

I think we all go through those thoughts now and again. I know I do. For me it is because I have never been at a healthy weight so I don't have anything to use as a reference. I have decided to just push forward and let my body tell me when I have gotten to the right weight. Focus on today and tomorrow will take care of itself.

Good idea to visualize YOU in the Future! Have you created a Vision Board? When I did one it really helped me see that the scale was a MINOR detail, family, health, debt free stand out as MUST DO's!

I think you should ignore guidelines as to what goal weight should be. Your body will know when you are at a Healthy weight for you. emoticon

I think that visualizing yourself at your goal weight is a good thing. Whenever thoughts pop into your head that you might not be able to do it - your brain will contradict you by saying "Nope. I've seen you at goal and it can definitely be done."

I'm currently reading a book about habits - why we have them and how to change them. In one section it gave the example of Michael Phelps and his ability to visualize perfect races and how this helps him to perform. It was quite eye opening.

So I say keep on visualizing yourself at goal and you'll be there sooner than you think.

Don't be afraid of failure. Be afraid of what happens if you don't try! You can do it!
