Doing it right in 2013.

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

I'm going to start this year off right. I have a goal to exercise 5x a week and burn 400 calories a day. I go in streaks where I workout for 2 - 3 months and then I stop. Plus when I exercise, I do well with eating for the first 2 weeks and then I fall off the wagon. This year will be my year. I'm going to stick with my goal.

I also started another service. I should just use Spark, because most of my foods are in my favorites and I love the tracker. I just wish we could give a value at the end of the day, so I know where I'm at. I know if I eat in my ranges, then I did well. But what about activity that I did? I think this is just a mental issue that I have. But since I'm paying for it, I'm going to use it to the max. I think near my 3 months (I paid for), I'm going to use spark. Then I will compare them to see my targets.

I will login to Spark daily. I will not just get my Spark Daily points, which I love. I will post read articles and post message. I do love the members on here. They do keep you on your toes. It motivates me.

I will drink my weight in water. I will try not to eat process foods. I will up my protein and lower the carbs I eat.

Blogs - I've never wrote a blog, but I'm going to try to create one at least one a month.

I'm also going to cut down on my drinking. I don't need it and it stalls my weight lost. Makes my face look bloated. Water is going to be my friend this year. I also need to cut down on my soda drinking. I'm going to only allow myself one a day for this week. Next week, one every other day. I'm just worried about the headache.

This year I'm also gong to try to be more patient. This is very hard for me. I should also try to do one act of kindness a day.

Off to the gym to burn my calories for the day. I wish everybody gets healthy and happy in 2013.

Sounds like you have some terrific goals for 2013! I don't know whether you've used this before on Spark, but under "Reports" there is a calorie differential over time report that can be run for a day or for longer periods. I find it useful because it shows both nutrition and the activity I've logged, so I can see over the course of the week whether I burned off the doughnuts I ate on Monday!

Looking forward to seeing you achieve your goals!
