2013...Bring It On!!

I wrote yesterday about the difficulties and successes of 2012. Today I am focusing on moving forward and planning for the year ahead. I need to continue with what works for me and drop the things that don't.
My overall goal is to lose 40 lbs this year. By doing this, I will accomplish two things I once never thought possible....(1) I would have lost 100 lbs total!.....(2) I will be in "ONEderland"....that hasn't happened since high school! These are both 'clubs' I would be honored to join and until I started SP I would have never thought I could do it. Now I have hope and determination that I will succeed!
My challenge is going to be how to lose it. Last year I lost 60 lbs in about 9 months, but have been stuck in a plateau since October. It's been really discouraging at times, but I'm determined to find my way out of this. From what I've read, I need to change-up my exercise routines. So I plan to try some new exercise DVD's and to join an exercise class. This will be my biggest challenge. I've always been too embarrassed to try this before...so sure that I would be the biggest person there and not be able to physically do any of the exercises. But I'm going to step outside of my comfort zone and give this a try. Like I said, I've learned determination:)
I've been good with tracking my food, but not always good about my food choices, so that is another area I will improve upon. I'm happy with my exercise minutes, so I just need to keep up the good work in that department:)
Lastly, another carry over from last year, is the goal to "be good to myself". I need to continue to learn not give in to emotional eating when life throws me a curve, and if I've learned anything from last year it's that life is full of curves!!
Here's to all of us meeting our goals and making 2013 our best year yet!!
