Already Losing... the wrong way

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

I feel like I have already fallen off the wagon emoticon even though I was hardly on the darn thing.

This last week and a half have not gone at all as I had planned. I had a few after the holidays/ holiday parties. I have let them be my excuse for not focusing on what is going in my mouth or even attempting to work out. emoticon

Today it is raining and I really want to just stay inside, but I have to get out and do something. I have to get going again....

Progress not perfection and baby steps will get you where you want to be. Will you stay strong and true and "perfect" always? A resounding NO! If you did/do, you would be PERFECT and none of us are sweetie. No one. Pick yourself up, put on your big girl panties and embrace your imperfections. Did you enjoy those parties? Did you make memories? THAT is what matters. This is life we're living! Bring it! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Every decision is it's own opportunity. Doesn't make any difference at all what has happened in the past. You'll make some good choices and some not so great, but you only win if you keep trying.

Hi sweetie - don;t beat yourself up so much. I know it's easier said than done, but it's true. We are all here to make a lifestyle change (something that does not happen overnight). You have a great start, you made a plan!! Now you just need to re gain your focus and really put your head in the game. Being able to say you stated something is HUGE, but being able to accomplish something you started is HUGER! emoticon I know that's not a word but that's how I feel. Just take a breath and tell yourself, emoticon Scrath the past and move forward with the positive things you have already learned. I can't think of anyone here I know that has NOT fallen off the wagon, the key is knowing that you need to dust off your hands and get right back on! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We all discover along the way things that are hard for us, things that are triggers, and things that are easy for us. Try to turn this into a positive...What have you learned? Would it be better to eat a bunch of low cal fruit/veggies before the party so you won't be as hungry? Did something in particular trigger over eating? I seriously love sweets but can never eat just one cookie, or one scoop of ice cream. It is important for me to know this.
emoticon Taking action is the hardest part. Get moving...tell yourself "just for 10 minutes". Once those 10 minutes are up, see if you can can go 10 more. Once you're moving it's easier to stay moving and before you know it you've done 30 minutes of cardio.

Don't beat yourself up. Everyday is a new day to start again. Everyday you get a new set of calories to eat, a new set of calories to burn and another opportunity to be thankful and great.

You can do it! Remember, take small steps and work towards bigger ones. You've already taken a step in the right direction just by THINKING about it. Hang in there! I love to pass this quote around because I found it on SP:
"The main 'enemy' of motivation is the tendency to see yourself as the hapless victim of forces (or urges) over which you have no control." You have control, don't give up. emoticon
