New year - New Opportunity to be Healthier

I have been struggling to focus on a healthier lifestyle for myself. I hope to make "small" changes to start good habits to form. I've started walking on my treadmill again. It is an excellent way for me to catch up on my news reading.

Also trying some of the new Progresso light soups. Didn't like the one I tried today, but it wasn't awful. I'll have to keep up trying new things.

NOTE TO SELF: Keep on trying to exercise and eat right as much as possible. I CAN do it!!

    Hi, Beth. I don't care for most of the Progresso soups, but if you find one you like, let us know!! Glad to hear you are using your treadmill! That's awesome. I'm always a slow mover on the treadmill, but when the weather is bad and that's all we have, it is the best alternative. Good luck! Hugs, Jeannie

    Getting some exercise on your treadmill is a great idea, good for You Bev. I've had a really slow start to 2013 in spite of all my good intentions and Goals. But, it's never too late for any of us to start doing healthy things. I rooting for you to continue to set new Goals and then work on achieving them. . .I want that for myself also.

    If you have time, you can make delicious soups yourself with almost no sodium. Blended veggies soups are my favourite!

    I go buy a head of cauliflower, sweet potatoes, celery, carrots, onion, garlic, and spinach. Chop the veggies (except the spinach), toss them with some oil and pepper (hot pepper flakes if you like them) and roast for 20 mins at 400 degrees. Then toss it all in a stock pot with 6 cups of water (use some of it to get the caramelised bits from the roasting pans), basil and rosemary, and the spinach and let simmer on low overnight. Cool and blend and then pack for lunch or dinner! Super-filling, low sodium, and extra-tasty!
