Reading Steve's post today on
www.NerdFitness.com I thought I should make a declaration of my intentions.
6 months from now we'll be in July, which is pretty much the time I'm supposed to leave for Europe with my friend for 3 weeks.

I would like to have lost 10% of my starting weight

(it says 245 on my ticker, so I'll run with that).
SO: 24-25lbs gone by departure date, which is tentatively July 17.
I'm already down 1.9 for the week, so I'm headed in the right direction!
THAT being said, I had lunch today with a friend I hadn't seen in several months. We went to our usual spot at the diner nearby and I had an enormous lunch.

I'm feeling bloated and uncomfortable. But that didn't stop me from buying a pack of licorice on my way our of the mall, rationalizing it by sending an email to my 20+ co-workers telling them they could come grab a piece from my desk.
It made me realize that this is my former mentality and new me was not very impressed with myself.
Fortunately, I have a date with a friend at the gym tonight (which got all buggered up last night) and I REALLY need it.

I wasn't so much in the mood last night, but tonight I'm totally into it.
Not to worry. I'll try to have a lighter dinner and drink some major

this afternoon to flush the bloat. Oh and PRAY I don't get heartburn, which is one of the lovely side effects of my old mentality.
