Let's get a little more specific

Reading Steve's post today on www.NerdFitness.com I thought I should make a declaration of my intentions.

6 months from now we'll be in July, which is pretty much the time I'm supposed to leave for Europe with my friend for 3 weeks.

emoticon I would like to have lost 10% of my starting weight emoticon (it says 245 on my ticker, so I'll run with that).

SO: 24-25lbs gone by departure date, which is tentatively July 17.

I'm already down 1.9 for the week, so I'm headed in the right direction! emoticon

THAT being said, I had lunch today with a friend I hadn't seen in several months. We went to our usual spot at the diner nearby and I had an enormous lunch. emoticon I'm feeling bloated and uncomfortable. But that didn't stop me from buying a pack of licorice on my way our of the mall, rationalizing it by sending an email to my 20+ co-workers telling them they could come grab a piece from my desk. emoticon

It made me realize that this is my former mentality and new me was not very impressed with myself.

Fortunately, I have a date with a friend at the gym tonight (which got all buggered up last night) and I REALLY need it. emoticon I wasn't so much in the mood last night, but tonight I'm totally into it.

Not to worry. I'll try to have a lighter dinner and drink some major emoticon this afternoon to flush the bloat. Oh and PRAY I don't get heartburn, which is one of the lovely side effects of my old mentality.

Have a great weekend Sparkers!

Hey, long time no see! =)

You have a nice goal. it's realistic, I'm sure you can do it! Congrats for the 1.9 pounds, that's definitively a good starter!

For the lunch... Well, if you tried to balance a bit with your evening, I'm sure that's not the old mentality! ;-)

I have done the same thing many times - am now seeing when I do I end up having acid reflex bad - so am now staying away from certain trigger foods.

What I have started just this year is that should I have something that really isn't planned - such as last night I had a piece of angle food cake (that part was ok but it was the icing on it that did me in) - well today I have put on my nike + watch and am going to have to walk another 2 miles because of the cake - and that does not make me to happy - but have decided that when I eat off plan I need to change up the exercise and depending on what I ate means I have to walk anwhere between 2 - 4 more miles in that day - it's making me think about whether I really want that food
