Treadmill Inspiration and Humor

Monday, January 14, 2013

Sometimes when I'm running I stare down at the stop button. It's not because I want to stop, it's just where my gaze happens to lie. So I started using that little stop button as a mantra. Instead of it saying stop I picture the word "DON'T" plastered over it. I had a little giggle tonight as I was running, imagining my Don't Stop sign... And I decided to create some other sayings as I looked around the functions of the treadmill. I will share two of those with you tonight:

I love how they almost read like bad pick-up lines hehehe! Sad thing is... I have more..

What do you tell yourself during a run? Do you let your mind wander?

Run on friends,

I usually think about how good I'll feel when I'm finished, haha. What I try to do is run until the end of the song I'm listening to. Something when the next one starts I'll say 'ok run until this point...' and so on. For the most part I like to sing my songs while running, well not out loud because people would think I was crazy. I 'get lost' in the song to take my mind off of running.

I just found this - as I am leaving to do the eliptical..... I think this is funny and will most likely think of it multiple times during my workout tonight! :)

"Just finish the 1st mile" is a good one for me. After that I just listen to my body. If it feels strong I run, if not I walk because I want to run again and injuries are no fun.
