Life Goal #8...Complete!!!
Sunday, January 27, 2013
In my first blog, I wrote about my life goals. Some are tiny, some are lofty...all are important to me. I am thrilled to report that I have achieved several of the goals since creating that list. For now, I want to tell you about completing:
8. Throw a kick butt “Super Sixteen” birthday party for my son in 2012.
So, last December, my awesome son, Cree, turned 16. I wanted so badly to throw him an amazing party and I whole-heartedly believe that I did. I rented a local naval museum for an evening and hosted a laser tag party on the ship! Talk about teen boy heaven! LOL. Cree is obsessed with Dr. Pepper, so that became the theme. Here are some pics:
This is one happy, birthday boy!
Being surrounded by friends is a great way to celebrate his big day :)
This was a homemade Dr. Pepper Cake with Dr. Pepper frosting! So yummy :) See those little maroon candies...those are Dr. Pepper Jelly Belly Jelly Beans! Not bad for my first attempt at a 2 layer cake!
We sent each guest home with treat bag filled with items from the Dr. Pepper Museum and a personalized luggage tag that proclaims: "Given enough Dr. Pepper, I could rule the world!"
Two proud parents at the end of Cree's amazing party!
As you can see, I worked really hard to think of all the details that would make the evening spectacular. From decorations to food and treat bags, my son had a blast and was surrounded by his closest friends. It was truly an awesome party and was worthy of my awesome son, Cree!
