With my 30th birthday coming up this year (not until June!), I've decided to set a new goal for myself. Ok, it's not really a NEW goal, but it's one that I'm refocusing on. & it's kinda almost because I can use a catchy phrase to keep me going, haha! I've got it written on my mirror so I see it really often: "130 by 30"
Also written on my mirror: "I love myself just as I am, right now" to help keep me focused on the self love.
I feel like, nutritionally, the plan is the same: track food, fit in as much water & freggies as I can & limit sugars & eating out. I've become a sponge for nutrition books & info lately. Crazy, Sexy Diet is one of my faves lately, along with Hungry for Change.
Honestly, sometimes the abundance of info is just overwhelming! Especially when you go from the Crazy Sexy vegan line of thought to the Paleo line. About the only thing that they have in common, it seems, is that organic veggies are the best & fat is good (although types of fat is up for debate). & gluten is questionable. (We don't eat much gluten as it is, because we keep our 9yr old's diet as free of it as possible, since it's been shown to affect kids on the autism spectrum.)
To keep me on track in the fitness department, there's actually a challenge at our local Y called Sweat to Spring Break. You earn "miles" to a destination (Miami Beach, San Diego or Honolulu) based on your activity. 100mi for group fitness classes, 20mi for every 1mi biked, 40mi for 1mi run & 60mi for 1mi swim. Since I tend to stick to group fitness, I feel like I'm gonna rock this!
The challenge just started yesterday, & my poor baby girl has been sick since Friday! My hubs is so awesome that he stayed home from the Y after work so I could go to class. And because I love my hubs, he needs a chance to workout tonight-- goodness knows he deserves it! I'm gonna have to hit the treadmill later on tonight. It'll be good for me since I tend to avoid running like the plague!
The challenge for me will be stress eating & dealing with sugar, since I feel like my self control in this area is really lacking. (Tiramisu is my downfall!) But this is definitely a topic for another blog on another day, because I'm sure I could go on for a while.
And my baby is gonna be 3 this Friday! *tear*
For some reason, I can't upload my picof her! I'll have to try again later on.
The kidlets have discovered that I'm doing something & now they won't leave me alone! Guess I'm all done!
