I'm failing

Thursday, February 28, 2013

I feel like I am failing, once again I have stopped keeping my food dairy and it is weeks since I lost any weight. I am still keeping up with my exercise and I am not doing any comfort eating but I am feeling stressed and very tired.
I am not sure what to next or even if I can keep to the diet for much longer.

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27: 14

You are much stronger than you know Elaine. I pray God will strengthen you. Hang in there ... God will take care of you! emoticon

Someone mentioned you are a caregiver. Please don't give up. You need to take the advice that I have trouble following, but am working hard on..take care of yourself first! We do tend to get burnt out on these things and have to take a step back now and then. If I can do this you can! Hang in there! HUGS!

Wait! You're a Caregiver, right??? No wonder you're feeling down... we ALL feel that way sometimes.... I echo the friend that asked if you were getting enough sleep... Are you??

Please don't give up... You can DO THIS!!!! Hang in there!

If you are feeling "stressed and very tired" there is something going on that you need to take care of first. Life happens. Take a "time out" mentally from Spark until you are ready to come back. Then you'll be able to jump in with your usual energy and enthusiasm.

Take care! We'll be here when you get back!!

If SP gets too overwhelming then just do the food tracking only. That is what I have found keeps me on track..forget the other things here..just concentrate on exercise and food and calorie counting.

forget the diet - just choose to eat as healthy as you know - keep doing your exercises. To help you - track your food then you will know for sure what you are consuming.
You have friends here- you can do it !

You are maintaining some of the healthy habits you started....all is not lost! If you have a setback, revert to baby steps in the areas you are struggling. This is life, not a diet. Progress, not perfection, right?

Be gentle with yourself, pick yourself back up, dust yourself off, and do the best that you are capable of each day. From one day to the next, our best is going to vary...so just do what you can, and don't give up!

hang in there... it is a little slip, YOU ARE STRONG! and i read some very positive stuff you are doing! you are working out and not comfort food eating! hon, that is HUGE! i haven't been able to break the emotional eating yet, so you are ahead of me. also, in the past i have even LIED on my food journal! what the heck? who sees it but me? i was just lying to myself, would have been better for me just not to write anything!

but listen, just start anew. God gave you a new day, a clean slate, just start again. as for the word "diet"... come on, the first tree letters spell die! what you are doing is a lifestyle change. i do NOT forbid myself from eating some "bad" food. i DO try to make a moderate portion. just enough to have the taste.

you CAN do this, i believe in you... you are ALREADY doing it!

Okay, sometimes, I feel like I am missing out on all the yummy food I used to eat, so here's what I do.
Give yourself one big splurge, but DON'T feel guilty or hopeless. Say to yourself, that was fun and move on to the healthy eating plan again the next day.
Everyone needs a break and some fun, stop worrying about it!
    Keep moving and keep logging.

SP is a great place to find motivation, so check out the posts too!

Are you getting enough sleep? That can really affect your progress. During the winter months it can make you feel rather down - not enough sunlight - not getting outdoors. I've been opening up the curtains and letting the sun shine in - it helps. When you can - get outdoors (if you won't freeze to death).

As for the food journaling - was it helping you before? Do you feel it motivates you? If so - perhaps you need to get back in there and try it again.

Don't give up - sometimes we just need to rewind ourselves like we would a watch. Our motivation goes up and down and we just need to keep it going. Find what you need to reset - and go with it - I'm sure you can do it!

I think it is always harder in the winter months - even here in Arizona. Hang in there! Spend some time in the Spark community! It really helps. emoticon
