Hi Spark Friends! This week on the 5% Winter Challenge we are to blog a new habit that we want to acquire this week. I want to be very aware of every piece of food that I am putting in my mouth and I can do that by eating clean. I had picked up a flu or virus that lasted about a week and a half and I have not felt good or even looked good since so rebounding for me on this has been slow. As we age and I am 70 years young, we have many deficits of nutrients and minerals in our body and I am looking to be more aware of what I am eating.
I just recently read a blog telling us about food additives that are banned in the US are still being used so reading the contents of what we are eating is very important. We must be aware! In addition to the clean eating I am also working on my journaling and a collage that I enjoy doing but don't always take the time. I am looking forward to acquiring clean eating until I can no longer think about the choices and I know that I am making healthy choices and it has become a habit. A big thank you to my spark friends who are so supportive of me! This journey is taking a long time but I will reach my goals this year! Hugs to all!

    I am 63 and it is not easy to change one's habitual nature into a healthier habitual nature. It can be done though. Good luck with eating cleaner and making wiser choices.

    emoticon June. emoticon One thing I have learned about recently is our need as we age to take digestive enzyme supplements to help our bodies properly digest our foods. A lot of the issues I have are symptoms of this issue, so I have been on them awhile and am seeing some improvement. I blogged about it and linked to tests that can help one discern the need and what enzymes are needed. Keep up the good work. Hugs.

    Seems like a good time to get started. I try not to eat processed food as far as possible, but there is always room to be more aware of what is on the label. Good luck this week and hope you feel 100% again.

    The bugs may have been nasty, but good eating will definitely make them harder to get in next time.

    Make sure to keep all the nasties out of the house.

    Good luck to you on your journey to improved health. Yikes, nothing worse than being down with some kind of bug.
    We do certainly have to be aware of what we are eating and in today's culture with the move to fast, easy and prepackaged it is all to easy fall away from "healthy eating".

    emoticon I don't think it's necessarily the eating . this year's bugs are particularly nasty. I had one who barely started to heal in a whole month and now I caught something new on top of it emoticon . sleeping a lot helps me though. good luck with the desired habit! emoticon
