Measuring Progress; Daily Meditation

How will I keep track of my progress, stay motivated, and how will I measure the results of my bid to make meditation a daily practice? I think this is both the simplest, and yet the most intangible parameter to measure. To keep track, I simply report to you all. To stay motivated, I am accountable to you all, and to myself. And, if I reflect on the wonderful benefits of meditation, that should be motivation enough.
Measuring the benefits is a little more challenging. How do you measure the release of tight muscles in your chest, the calming of butterflies in your stomach, the ability to stay calm in the midst of: one son climbing the stairs on the wrong side of the banister, a cat throwing up a hair ball on the carpet, a pot boiling over on the stove, one of the dogs chewing up a boy's treasured toy, and the other son salting the cat. That all really happened one day, within about a 15 minute span.
The answer is that you can't measure it. But you know there has been a change. And the change it good. And it makes life better. So you do it again.....
