After the fast

Actually, I felt great all day. I think it's good for me, psychologically, to realize that I'm not going to collapse if I don't eat the way I usually do. I had plenty of energy all day and only really felt deprived around lunchtime and at around 9:00 p.m., which is always a bad time for me, anyway. It was actually easier to KNOW I couldn't eat at that point. The book did say to keep well-hydrated, and that was great, and I also did very well by having a low-glycemic breakfast and dinner. The dinner was a fabulous recipe - really delicious: www.myrecipes.com/recipe
This will be a keeper no matter what. For anyone else who is doing this, I had 1 cup whole strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries and 1 TBS pomegranate seeds, a boiled egg and a slice of gluten free whole grain toast for breakfast, a lot of water during the day, as well as one espresso in the afternoon (I had two in the morning at breakfast) and then the Tuscan Kale Soup (modified, though, I only used 1/2 TBS olive oil and 1 1/2 cans of canellini beans and this brought the calorie count down to 177) and a cup of whole strawberries and a TBS of mixed nuts at dinner. I may have been 17 calories over the 500 limit, but I'm not going to sweat that. I also found that getting the food OUT of my system for 2, 12-hour periods was a good thing, too. I'd planned to fast tomorrow, but I realized I have an event in the evening, so I'm going to try it again on Thursday OR only do one day this week and see how that goes. I may not rev up to 2X per week until after my big trip at the end of the month.
