strong point fitness weak point snacking

So I am a machine with working out. After working out yesterday morning 51 minutes on treadmill and a 5 minutes step challenge I did another 30 minutes last night of fitness. I then got up this morning and did another 45 minutes of zumba. I love to work out and I love the way I feel after. However, I am a snacker. I try not to think about it to much and avoid the kitchen however last night I had ice cream and did not measure it out. After I ate a bowl I discovered I probably had 2 and a half servings at 160 calories a serving. OMG!!! So I really need to work on my snacking habits. I did manage to get most of the snacks out of the house but I caved when the schwanns man came the other day and ordered cookie dough and ice cream. So now I am going to have to donate baked cookies to some event to get rid of them.

On a good note my husband got up this morning and went to the gym. He has taken it upon himself to start working out and trying to be healthy. I am not saying anything because he does not want to hear the "healthy lectures". I don't think i lecture but I do tell him the things I am doing and I guess he thinks it is a lecture from guilt of knowing what he should be doing and is not. If I had to guess I would say my husband is around 230 to 240 pounds. Doctors have told him he is in the high risk category for a heart attack. He carries his weight in his mid section, he has high blood pressure and cholesterol. I on the other hand am over weight but with none of those issues knock on wood. I have been a member of spark for years, silently hoping my husband would join me in my efforts and I think it may finally be happening. Pray that he continues his efforts to get healthy. I really worry about his health.

So for the 5% challenge again
Something I need to work on: My snacking
What I am going to do: Close down the kitchen for the night after dinner
I am also going to try to busy myself with a cleaning task anytime I think about snacking as punishment. ha ha! That way I will have a clean house and maybe will stop thinking about snacking all together.

    Good job identifying and making a plan for dealing with snacking. Not eating after dinner is something that has worked well for me. You obviously are setting a good example for your hubby. Good for him for going to the gym. emoticon

    You can snack, nearly all food plans encourage snacking - just 100-150 calories worth. With ice cream, as long as it is within your calorie range, have some.
    Just have a single portion, a scoop, If you want more, add a little fruit to it. emoticon
