Total Opposites

I know I have already blogged today but I read a blog that inspired me to share. Have you ever read a blog where the person was so negative you wonder how they get up in the morning?

My husband and I are polar opposites. While he stresses over everything, has high blood pressure and starts off his day with a grumble I am the exact opposite. Very few things stress me out, I enjoy my morning workouts and I start off my day with a smile. I know sounds like I am bragging., well I guess I kinda am. I am a true believer in you create your own happiness. Have you ever noticed that negative people always have bad things that happen to them while positive people smile and go about their normal lives in contentment. It is not that bad things do not happen to positive people it is how they react to these problems that make them the way they are.

Example: Last week my family was going out to dinner. We were three cars away from a stop sign and the person behind us starts honking their horn at us. There is nothing we can do as there are cars in front of us. When we finally got up to the stop sign we turned right and the person behind us came flying by us like his pants were on fire. It ruined my husbands night. He spent the entire dinner thinking about going to find where the person lives and how if me and the kids where not in the car he would have reacted. As for me it is done and over with and you can not change how others behave. We did nothing wrong and all is well.

I often wish I could wave a magic wand and make my husband chill. However, the world is filled with all types of people (and sizes) and I guess that is what makes it a great place.

When I was pregnant with my first I was told only yell at the important stuff. If you yell at everything big and small you will not get a response from your child. If you yell about the important stuff they will pay attention. I kinda have that theory in life. If you stress out about everything, people will not pay attention to you or offer assistance if everything is a disaster.

So I guess I have no magic closure to this blog or any true words of wisdom. I can't fix everything and I can't change the way people think. But I can handle how I react, what I stress over and sit back enjoy life and watch the show in progress.

Hope everyone has a great day!

It takes all kind-I agree with you -we can only control how we respond to situations. We use to do the "grumpy act" to make a point with my DS-who always sees the glass as 1/2 full-when he is just being a total party pooper-we will start doing the same thing-only 10 times as bad-in a very dramatic-tongue-in-cheek way. Most of the time he will have to smile-even though it kills him-lol.Keep Smiling.
