Trying something new

So last night while easter shopping for the kids at Kmart I saw a 4 DVD box set of exercise videos for only 6 dollars. I thought why not! It is not to much money and it had belly dancing for beginners, hip hop dancing for beginners, salsa workout and foxtrot workout. This morning I did the belly dancing. I had fun but felt it was not challenging enough though tomorrow my hips and ribs might be hurting. ha ha! We shall see. I also did 20 minutes of the Jillian Michaels cardio kickboxing to increase my calorie burn for the morning. I also bought myself a yoga ball. I want to try the pilates DVD again but I needed a ball to do several of the poses.

I am a little down this morning because last night a friend ask me how much I had lost because she knows I work out one hour a day at least and I had the joy of telling her only 5 pounds since New Year. So depressing to work so hard and not see the scale move. Yes I have lost 3 inches in the past month but it has not gotten me down a pants size yet and I am still in the 190's. I am hoping that tomorrow will get me in the 180's. I only had one day this week of bad getting and the rest I have been on track in addition to burning over 3000 calories in exercise. If I do not see results in the next couple weeks I may have to go to the doctors. I can not imagine why I am not losing. Granted I have one day where I go over in calories for the day a week but the rest of the time I am eating good. Yesterday was yogurt/fruit/granola for breakfast, snack was a bananna, lunch a greek salad, dinner fish/rice/corn and for snack I had a couple dove chocolates. I also had 1 cup of herbal tea and one cup of coffee yesterday. Why I am not skinny I will never know. HA HA

Yesterday my family booked our spring vacation and I am happy to say another family is going with us and the wife is on a diet as well so it will be much easier to stay on track when someone else is doing the same. She is on a low carb diet while I am not on low carb I just count everything. We are planning out our meals for shopping as we rented a cabin and we are taking the kids bikes. They are not getting to the cabin until late into day 2 of the vacation. My husband and I are planning on eatting out the first two nights as we are meeting some family in Williamsburg the first night to have seafood. My Grandma loves seafood so it should not be to hard to stay on track. The other day my husband wants to go to his favorite chinese buffet/ sushi bar. I am going to try and stick with mongolian that night and soup. Lunches will be things like soup and sandwiches and breakfast will be varied as I am bringing my yogurt but I am also cooking high protein for my friend for breakfast. So we will see how it goes.
