Crazy Weekend

Am I getting old or just more reasonable? So I am 40 years old. I can't believe I am 40. I don't feel 40 but sadly I am. My husband is active duty military and for those that don't know most men in the military are like big kids so they generally act much younger than they are as well. However, lately it seems most of my husbands friends are getting on our nerves. What use to be fun to us now just seems dumb. For instance we were invited to one of my husbands friends wifes birthday party. She turned 33. We did not want to go because their new neighbors are drunks and lately everytime we go it is the same thing. Watching drunks act stupid and talk about things that make 50 shades look lame. Needless to say we went for a couple hours and it was just like before someone getting drunk and stupid, alot of sex talk, alot of people talking about what body part they are going to get pierced next, etc. My husband and I left and he actually said I don't think we will be going back over their anymore. The only thing I could think was THANK YOU!

Don't get me wrong I have nothing wrong with drinking a drink or two, going to party or hanging with friends it just seems like the friend quality seems to be declining. My husband actually said the other day he needed to find a new set of friends because the ones he has seem to be slowly losing their minds. His other friend was having a party for his girlfriend the same night and that situation is not much better. His girlfriend does not speak to women. I think I have seen her 3 times and I don't think she has spoken more than 4 sentences to me. Needless to say I did not go to that party for obvious reasons. This friend after his divorce turned into a womanizer and so we do not really like to spend much time with them. We know this girlfriend will never last so why invest time. UGHHH!

Yesterday we went to my families (an hour away) and had a oyster roast which turned out nice. I had never eatten oysters that way before so it was different. Not something I would want to eat all the time but it was not bad. Had a great time even though the weather was not the best. My Grandmother made homemade New England Clam chowder. I managed to stay in my calorie range yesterday so yesterday was a win win.

Today I did 45 minutes on the bike and 20 minutes of wii dance this morning. I will be going grocery shopping tonight so I am going to try a couple more new receipes. The family is starting to like my new experiments.

TGIM - I love the work week as I stay on track much easier!
