Perth Day 1

I made it to Perth yesterday and after getting settled in at the Quest on James I grabbed a shower and a nap before setting out for London Court.

The weather is wonderful and Perth is a beautiful city. I am enjoying all the unique shops. I worked in a jewelery store for 8 years so I am particularly interested in the opals, pearls, and colored diamonds. If I am going to splurge on a trip to Australia, I am going to splurge on jewelry also. I especially want to find a natural blue diamond instead of the heat treated ones. After I finish this trek, my reward is going to be a black opal and a blue diamond before I leave. What an incentive to get up and move!

For dinner I stopped at a wonderful little seafood restaurant and had shrimp on the barbie, grilled asparagus, a wonderful salad, and of course pavlova with strawberries and kiwi.
