Bibbulmun Track Virtual Trek Day 15
Sunday, April 14, 2013
Today we got back on the track and headed toward the Lane Poole Reserve. Wow! This reserve has just about everything one could want from nature. There are many bushwalking tracks along the Murry River, which provides the opportunity for all kinds of water sports; including fishing, swimming, rafting, and canoeing.
The reserve also has an abundance of wildlife and a variety of landscapes, which include woodlands, forested valleys, rock rimmed pools, rapids, and small waterfalls. I think this has been my favorite day on the track so far. The sound of the running water and yet another fantastic display of wildflowers was just wonderful.
Tonight we made camp at the Murray Campsite beside the river. I took advantage of this close proximity to the river to take a dip and cool off before dinner. After dinner I read for a while before turning in for the night to the sounds or running water and nocturnal animals.
