My parents were visiting us for the last 2 weeks, and we took trips to Barcelona and Normandy. Aside from a few pastries and a little too much wine, we all were very good about keeping to our diets!!
My dad and my partner rode bikes all over Barcelona, and all three of us went for an early morning run.
My mom recently got a fancy pedometer (this one www.engadget.com/2011/12
) and it was her goal to reach 10000 steps a day. So while dad and my partner were off biking, my mom and I were walking all over the place. We walked hours a day, visiting museums and exploring the city. Most days, we easily exceeded her goal.
We had a great time (aside from the bed bugs on our first night in Barcelona - ew! ), and I lost 1.7 lbs over the holiday! I just heard from my mom that she lost 2 lbs over the holiday. We're pretty pleased with ourselves that we kept things under control on vacation.
We carried a lot of food and snacks with us. So we were never without a banana or some unsalted nuts. We also carried water bottles around to stay hydrated.
It was fun to work with my whole family to be healthy on vacation. And now, I am only 0.7 lbs away from my goal weight!!
