Teach Yourself To Open Up For Increasing Energy

Working out with weights creates tension in my muscles and I feel my body slowly tightening. This affects my ability to breathe therefore reducing the amount of oxygen my body can provide to my organs and nervous system. This is especially true when following bodybuilding parameters. The increased volume extends the time under tension necessary to stimulate sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, or growth of the muscle through swelling.
Many muscle viruses or imbalances are increased and magnified when following bodybuilding parameters. The extra-respiratory muscles, or all of the muscles associated with breathing from your nasal passage down through your neck, chest, diaphragm and pelvic floor are tightened when applying stress to any muscle in your body. This therefore decreases my ability to breathe and nourish your body with oxygen.
Breathing deep is essential for my energy levels. Common sense tells me that oxygen increases energy. With help from my coach I have added a deep breathing exercise in between sets to increase energy.
You know one of the colorful big bouncy balls you see in stores or at the gym? Yeah, those things, lol. Well, I simply lie back on it, extending my arms back like i'm taking a big stretch in bed, and curve my back over it and relax. This allows my chest and extra-respiratory muscles to fully open up and re-energize. I breathe deep 10 times with my mouth wide open, rise and then take on the next set.
It's worked wonders and I feel more energetic for the next set. My body buzzes and tingles and I cannot begin to tell you how pumped up I get. You don't have to use a ball. You could simply do it over a stool, or the end of a couch or even hang off the edge of your bed. The point is opening up the airways and allowing your muscles to open up as well.
I do this everyday when i'm not working out too just to kickstart my day or re-energize in the middle of the day.
I invite you to try this. Even without working out. Try it a couple or a few times a day. I promise you will find new energy you may not think was there before.
Something to consider. God bless you all. Kia Kaha.
