Update: Time To Find A Partner
Thursday, April 18, 2013
To PEPPYPATTI, thanks heaps for the offer of becoming my accountability partner. It's heart warming to know people are there with me, willing me to achieve. I am tempted to accept however, I would hate to upset the guidelines of this group as we are asked to invite members of the same gender. Respect is a big thing for me and I will respect the guidelines on this.
Whilst i respectfully decline your invitation in an official capacity, I had an interesting piece of advice from our friend SIMCYN, whom I have a deep respect for. During my time so far sharing my experiences with you all, I feel like I have been holding myself accountable simply by you and many others supporting me. I believe that this is the intention of this group. And I see no reason why I should interrupt that now.
You all help me and inspire me to be strong. And what's more, all of my SP friends are ladies. I went through and looked through some of our membership last night trying to find guys and I found two, lol.
I have accidentally found myself opening up in ways I never would if I was talking to guys. Although many of my blogs are directed to men. Pride and male bravado often restrict our ability to get in touch with our truths. To be able to be truly honest especially when it comes to admitting my shortcomings.
With this in mind, I have come to a decision that I will not actively seek an accountability partner. I am happy and more forthcoming with the friends I have now. I cannot tell you just how appreciative I am for all of the support and advice I receive from you all.
Should the right opportunity arise to partner up with a guy team member then I will cross that path when I get to it. For now though, I will continue being accountable to you all. I will continue to share my ups and downs. My good times and bad. You have all been so understanding and encouraging.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Please accept my love and appreciation. God bless and as always, Kia Kaha. Be strong.
Sincerely yours, Reuben.
